We have ordered the bees and they are coming on May 2nd. The lady at Kelley's Bee Supply asked me if I was ready for the bees. I told her, "Not yet, but I will be!" We are closing in on the last week before Bee Day, so we better get cracking. We did sow the clover seeds in our lower meadow. Hopefully they will grow and serve as both a ground cover and bee food!

Life in rural Kentucky is satisfying, challenging, and never dull. In the year we have lived here we have gradually settled into our home, have started developing the outside acreage, have started keeping bees, have lost one dog and have gained another. In this chronicle I hope to reflect a little bit of the flavor or our life near where Daniel Boone's first settlement.
